LearnSmart4Life (“we”, “us”) offers free material for learners and teachers (the LearnSmart Challenge, the Evidence Library and Staffroom view, the ThinkWell Practice Gym, the LearnWell4Life videos and the Everyday Knowhow taster) and lists courses, decks and personal editions for learning and thinking. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. LearnSmart4Life is part of a family of wellbeing brands created by Dr Alten du Plessis (alongside FlourishIQ, FlourishTalk and InspireWell4Life), and is powered by FlourishIQ. What it lists is bought on the site that owns it: courses on flourishiq.co.za, decks on flourishtalk.co.za and personal editions on inspirewell4life.com. FlourishTalk is the seller and processes card payments, so FlourishTalk is the name on your statement. We process personal information in line with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and, for visitors in the EU and UK, the GDPR.

1. Using this site

You can use everything on this site without an account. Its pages set no cookies of their own and run no advertising or analytics trackers. Our host keeps the standard technical records any web server keeps.

2. The free tools

• The LearnSmart Challenge: your answers are scored in your own browser and are never sent to us or anyone else. Your last result (the four scores and the date, not your answers) is kept only in your browser, on your device, so you can compare next time. The result page has a button to clear it, and clearing this site’s data in your browser removes it too.
• The Evidence Library and Staffroom view: nothing you search, filter or open is stored or sent anywhere.
• The ThinkWell Practice Gym: your notes and your rep count are kept only in your own browser, on your device. They are never sent to us or anyone else. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes them.
• The LearnWell4Life videos are played from Vimeo. When you play one, Vimeo’s own privacy policy applies.
• The Everyday Knowhow taster runs on flourishiq.co.za. Nothing on it is stored, and no score is kept.

3a. Everyday Knowhow

• Week 1, without a pass: what you try and your quiz scores are saved on Everyday Knowhow’s own database under a random code kept in a cookie in your browser, not under your name.
• A pass: the email address you give the first time you use a code becomes the pass’s key. We use it to open the pass on your other devices (we email a 6-digit number), to send you your codes if you lose them, and for nothing else. Each device you open keeps a random code in a cookie; we store only a scrambled version of it and a short description such as “iPhone · Safari”.
• Buying a pass: your name and email for the receipt and the code, and, for a gift, the recipient’s email and your message. Payment is handled by PayFast.
• No account and no password: Everyday Knowhow does not use your FlourishIQ login.

3. When you write to us

The contact form sends your name, email address, organisation (if you give one), topic and message to the family’s form handler on flourishtalk.co.za, so that we can reply. We use it only to answer you.

4. When you buy or log in

Courses, decks and personal editions are bought on the site that owns them, and your details are handled there under its own privacy policy: FlourishIQ, FlourishTalk and InspireWell4Life. In short:

• Order details: the name to print on a personalised deck or edition, and the email address to deliver to.
• Courses: your account on FlourishIQ, your enrolments and progress, and the reflections and responses you save in the tools. Your tool history and your reflections are yours.
• Payment information: handled by PayFast. We never see or store your full card details.

5. Courses presented by an educator

If an educator presents a course to your group, you join the educator’s group yourself, with a code, after reading what the educator will see. What you write in a tool is never shown to the educator.

6. Institution editions and group orders

When a school, university or organisation orders personalised copies or course seats for its people, we process each person’s name, and email address where we are asked to deliver directly, only to make and deliver their copy or seat.

7. Who we share it with

We share only what is necessary, with trusted service providers who process data on our behalf:

• Payment processor: PayFast, which handles your card payment securely under its own privacy terms.
• Email delivery: for receipts, download links and replies.
• Hosting: our website and database host.
• Affiliates: if you arrived on an owning site through a referral link, we record only that a referred sale occurred, to calculate commission. We do not share your personal details with affiliates.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

8. Payments

Card payments are processed by PayFast for FlourishTalk, the name on your statement. Prices are in South African rand.

9. Keeping your information safe

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including hashed passwords and restricted access. No online service can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but we take this seriously.

10. How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as your account or order is active, and after that only as long as needed for legitimate business, legal or tax purposes.

11. Your rights

You may ask us for a copy of your personal information, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to certain processing. Email support@flourishtalk.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable time.

12. Cookies and local storage

The pages of this site set no cookies. Everyday Knowhow (on flourishiq.co.za) sets two: one that recognises a device you have opened a pass on, and one that keeps your week-1 tries together; neither is used for advertising or tracking. The ThinkWell Practice Gym keeps your notes and rep count, and the LearnSmart Challenge your last result, in your browser’s local storage, on your device only. The owning sites use a login session and, where relevant, store an affiliate referral code in your browser for up to 30 days; they do not use these for advertising.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the current version.
